Abstract
Single crystals of pure and Ba @ amino hydrogen chloride (l-histidine hydrogen chloride) monohydrate (C6H9N3O2·HCl·H2O) were grown by Slow Evaporation Solution Technique (SEST). The grown crystals were investigated by single crystal XRD, FT-IR, Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Linear Optical (UV-vis-NIR), Non Linear Optical (NLO), Dielectrics and Vickers microhardness studies to find the crystal and molecular structure, composition, surface morphology, linear and non linear optical, electrical and mechanical behavior. Structural difference between l-histidine hydrochloride (LHC) and Ba @ l-histidine hydrochloride (Ba@LHC) crystals was studied by single XRD analysis. Functional groups were identified by FTIR spectroscopy. The linear optical spectrum is correlated with the non linear (second harmonic generation, SHG) properties.
