Abstract
The dual-phase Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95-La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3âδ asymmetric membrane was prepared via a phase-inversion tape-casting method. The membrane consisted of a thicker porous support layer and a thinner dense layer. When the dense side of the membrane was coated with a La0.6Sr0.4CoO3âδ catalytic activation layer, the oxygen permeation flux was markedly increased by a factor of 4.1-5.6, reaching 0.45 mL cmâ2 minâ1 at 900 °C. The flux increase can be attributed to enhanced surface oxygen exhange kinetics.
