Abstract
We demonstrate a novel approach to prepare monodispere polypyrrole (PPy) nanospheres in formic acid buffer solution of Pluronic® F-108 using ammonium persulfate (APS) as the oxidant. The diameters of the nanospheres can be tuned across to be from 110 to 120Â nm by adjusting the concentration of reagents. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) confirms that the micelles of pyrrole dissolved in formic acid buffer solution of F108 is the soft template to form the PPy nanospheres. The as-synthesized PPy nanospheres are easily dispersed in water, alcohol or N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) solutions.
