Abstract
Currently, the IsoformĀ® lengthwise-reciprocating grinding process is considered the most accurate method for generating the tooth profile of a gear shaping cutter. However, despite improving the profile accuracy of the grinding shaper, the IsoformĀ® ground helical shaping cutter, especially one with a small tooth number, still produces pressure angle, curvature and profile errors. Therefore, we propose a mathematical model to correct such errors and then validate the model numerically using the tooth profile of a cutter enveloping gear.
