Abstract
The non-linear dynamic behaviors of a rotor–bearing–seal coupled system are investigated. The influence of parameters, such as the rotation speed, seal clearance and eccentricity of rotor are analyzed by state trajectory, Poincaré maps, frequency spectra and bifurcation diagrams. Various non-linear phenomena compressing periodic and quasi-periodic motion in the rotor–bearing–seal system are investigated. The comparison between the analytical results of the numerical and the experimental findings shows that the predictive results agree with the experimental results. It is indicated that this study may contribute to a further understanding of the non-linear dynamics of such a rotor–bearing–seal coupled system.
