Abstract
Gerotor profiles have been used for compressors, pumps and rotary engines. Due to the non-existence of a general method for non-circular internal pitch design, gerotors are all generated from circular pitches. In this paper, complete theory and algorithm are developed for the first time to design non-circular pitch based gerotors and their conjugate rotors. This method is deviation-function based and is a general one. It can be used to design conventional gerotors when circular pitches are adopted. Several examples are provided for illustration.
