Abstract
► Thick coatings are quickly formed on Ti-6Al-4V by plasma electrolytic oxidation. ► The coatings were composed of rutile, anatase and amorphous material. ► Passive current density of the coatings was lower for short treatment times. ► Coatings with long treatment time are more wear-resistant.
