Abstract
⺠We address the effects of coating type and nature on wear progression. ⺠We perform cutting tests and we conduct measurements on both the inserts and composite phases. ⺠We use nanoscale analysis to explain the interfacial consumption in cutting glass/epoxy composite. ⺠We explain sensitivity of properties at interfaces to induced-changes i.e. friction.
