Abstract
⺠A new boriding method (CRTD-Bor) was applied to titanium in a systematic manner. ⺠All produced boride layers consisted of TiB2 on top and TiB whiskers underneath. ⺠A short processing time (30 min) was enough to grow uniform thick boride layers. ⺠The activation energy of TiB2 layer was determined as 189.9 kJ/mol. ⺠The study resulted in a diagram to be used in the prediction of TiB2 thickness.
