Abstract
⺠Defects formed in Start/Stop zone during laser cladding were studied experimentally. ⺠Few methods are proposed to eliminate such defects. ⺠Qualitative evaluation of these methods is provided for two types of coatings. ⺠Change of hardness in Start/Stop zone is attributed to change of local composition.
