Abstract
► Uniform distribution of partially melted WC in Ti-6Al-4V/WC clad is achieved at 111.10 J.mm−2 and 633.3 mg.s−1. ► Clad width is inversely dependent on energy density. ► β-Ti, TiC and re-crystallised W enhance hardness. ► Partially melted WC particles improve wear resistance.
