Abstract
► In this work, silicon carbide (SiC) was coated on carbon/carbon composites using chemical vapour deposition (CVD) method. ► The effect of substrate position on the microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. ► It was found that the microstructure and mechanical properties were significantly affected by the substrate position.
