Abstract
►Post-oxidation treatment produced a dense, adherent oxide film on the compound layer. ►However, this oxide film spalled off, failed to improve the oxidation resistance. ►Surface deteriorated severely before there was any thermal fatigue cracking. ►Considerable loss of mechanical strength occurred due to thermal exposure.
