This paper deals with the effect of the torque peak on the choice of electrical motor and transmission suitable for moving a joint. We propose a method that allows us to explain the general form of the resolving diagram and to identify the load conditions that are directly responsible for it. In consequence, this method permits the designer to obtain the equation of this curve and to find analytically the admissible motors and the corresponding transmission ratio ranges.
