Abstract
⺠The interface exchange interaction strongly affects the CoPt/NiO magnetic behavior. ⺠Exchange interaction increases the effective anisotropy of the ferromagnet. ⺠The system shows a drastic coercivity increase in the zero field cooling state. ⺠Chemical inhomogeneities of the interface are revealed by photoelectron spectroscopy.
