Abstract
► The interface exchange interaction strongly affects the CoPt/NiO magnetic behavior. ► Exchange interaction increases the effective anisotropy of the ferromagnet. ► The system shows a drastic coercivity increase in the zero field cooling state. ► Chemical inhomogeneities of the interface are revealed by photoelectron spectroscopy.
