Abstract
This paper presents the experimental analysis of a tensegrity structure based on truncated icosahedron geometry. The objective of the study is to characterize the mechanical behavior of a tensegrity dome. Two reduced scale tensegrity domes were assembled, one of which was instrumented for the laboratory experiments. The experimental data collected are related with structural displacements, strain in the bars and strain in the cables.
