Abstract
This paper analyzes flow and heat transfer characteristics of the free convection on a vertical plate with uniform and constant heat flux in a thermally stratified micropolar fluid. The dimensionless forms of boundary layer equations and their associated boundary conditions have been derived and the numerical results have been obtained using the method of cubic spline collocation with a finite difference scheme. The effects of the micropolar and stratification parameters on the dimensionless wall temperature, skin friction parameter and wall couple stress are discussed.
