Abstract
⺠We develop a method for the fabrication of CrN nanoislands on Cu(001). ⺠Growth of two types of CrN nanoislands is shown by scanning tunneling microscopy. ⺠Chromium nitride phase transition is shown by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy.
