Electrical conductivity of tungsten doped vanadium dioxide obtained by the sol-gel technique

► W-doped and undoped VO2 thin films were obtained by a sol-gel method. ► Doping with W affects onto the parameters of metal-insulator transition. ► A characteristic phonon frequency is shown to fall with increasing the W content. ► The results are discussed in terms of the small polaron hopping conduction model.
