Abstract
The paper presents the results of molecular dynamics study of a nanosized Cu-Ag heterostructure and a pure Cu nanocrystal under uniaxial tension. It is found that the interface affects mechanical properties of the heterostructure. The critical stress at which plastic deformation starts to occur in the heterostructure is determined. It is revealed that structures like Lüders bands are formed under external action.
