Abstract
The cross-section values of the 46Ti(n, t)44mSc reaction have been measured around the neutron energy of 14â¯MeV using the activation cum γ-ray spectrometric technique and previously developed formula used to calculate the cross-section value of the excited state with the characteristic γ-ray activity of the ground state. The pure cross-section values of the 46Ti(n, t)44gSc reaction have also been obtained around the neutron energy of 14â¯MeV after subtracting the contribution of the excited state γ-ray activity from the ground state γ-ray activity. The present results are compared with the experimental data from literature and with the calculated values based on the empirical and semi-empirical formulas. It was observed that the cross-section values of the 46Ti(n, t)44mSc reaction are much higher and those of the 46Ti(n, t)44gSc reaction are in good agreement with the literature data within uncertainties as well as with the calculated values based on the even-even and odd-even fitted semi-empirical formula.
