Abstract
M X-ray production cross sections for selected thick targets of Hf, W, Re, Pt, Au and Pb impacted by 75-300Â keV protons are presented and compared with ECPSSR and RPWBA theories using different atomic data bases, including comparisons with other investigators. The results for the major M X-ray transitions exhibit a universal character with respect to the reduced proton velocity in agreement with expectations from theory.
