Abstract
The paper provides a brief review of the mam methods of strain measurements for stress-strain state analysis of specimens and parts with particular emphasis on the television-optical method developed at the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science SB RAS Consideration is given to the applicability of the television-optical method to analysis of mechanical behavior of materials, in particular that at the stage of damage accumulation and fracture, and to estimation of crack resistance and configuration of plastic zones m a notched Cu specimen It is shown that the method is advantages over other relevant techniques.
