Abstract
We present experimental studies of the deflection of a proton microbeam with energy of 1 and 2Â MeV as a function of the beam displacement when they pass between either two metallic or two insulator plates. We found systematic differences between the behavior of the metallic and insulator samples. We observed that the beam deflection is larger for insulator plates than for metallic ones. We also found that the proton microbeam with lower energy suffers larger deflection independently of the plate material.
