Abstract
The crystallinity and the chemical structures of 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-pyridyl)-21H, 23H-Prophine Zinc (ZnTPyP) of the powder and the thermally evaporated thin films were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques, respectively. The DC electrical properties of Au/ZnTPyP/Au structure showed semiconducting behavior and the activation energies were calculated. In addition, a hybrid heterojunction of configuration Al/p-Si/ZnTPyP/Au has been fabricated and investigated. The morphologies of the ZnTPyP/p-Si were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM). This device revealed rectification behavior like diode in dark. From the dark current-voltage measurements, the device parameters and the conduction mechanisms have been reported and interpreted in the temperature range (303â¯K-343â¯K). Under illumination intensity of 5mW/cm2, the studied cell is found to follow photovoltaic phenomena.
