Abstract
												Synthesis of the ultra-long CdS nanowires has been done by the route of thermal evaporation. High growth rate is achieved upon modification in a vertical arrangement of quartz boats. The as-synthesized product further investigated by TEM and SAED. Field emission measurements have been carried out. Field emission results of ultra-long nanowires are found to be superior as compared to the specimen A, B and C. Field emission image shows large number of tiny spots indicating participation of large emitters in field emission.199
