Abstract
► The antibacterial properties of CuCrO2 film surfaces against Escherichia coli were investigated. ► Delafossite type CuCrO2 thin films were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering. ► The CuCrO2 surface exhibiting superior antibacterial performance. ► CuCrO2 shows an optical transparency of >70% in the visible region. ► A novel transparent antibacterial coating has been demonstrated in present study.
