Abstract
Alginate nanocomposites having an organo-modified nanoclay into their structure are presented and synthesized by means of radical polymerization. Also, their main properties and characteristics are evaluated. These nanocomposites are employed for the removal of some phenolic compounds i.e. phenol and 4-chlorophenol, from water solutions. The obtained results show their potential application in continuous flux processes and their affinity with the chloro-substituted phenol.153
