Abstract
► Our data show zeolite synthesis from kaolinite at very low incubation temperatures. ► The presence of impurities in the kaolinite controls the type of zeolite formed. ► KGa-2 poorly crystalline kaolinite is conducive only to zeolite A synthesis. ► Kaolinite with quartz and illite/mica promotes the A and X-type zeolites synthesis. ► Zeolite A and zeolite X were formed starting from 25 and 30 °C, respectively.
