Abstract
⺠Studied raw materials are kaolinic- illitic clays with a high quartz content. ⺠Mineralogical transformations induced by firing have been discussed. ⺠The bending strength of each ceramic body has been determined. ⺠Some clay can be situated in the required specifications for earthenware. ⺠Clays from IV and VI Regions may contribute to developing the ceramic industry in Chile.
