Abstract
⺠Uniaxial test data are approximated as monoscale average material property of the specimen. ⺠Macroscopic and microscopic material properties are different, but they can be related. ⺠Surface energy density (SED) establishes scale shifting law to relate macro-micro effects. ⺠The SI system belongs to the homogeneous case of the scale shifting law. ⺠Multiscaling is inherent to the sustainability and stability of material microstructure.
