Abstract
It is shown that microdamage accumulation has a threshold character and after local fracture the material is deformed by the previous law. There is direct correlation between macrostresses and local (meso-) parameters of strain distribution. The regions of uniform strain accumulation alternate with the regions where strains change abruptly, which leads first to local and then to macrofracture of the entire material.
