Abstract
The buckling of a thin FGM microplate subjected to mechanical and thermal loading is evaluated using the spline finite strip method, based on modified couple stress theory. Regarding thickness, the features of the FGM plate are assumed as being variable according to the law's proposed model. The spline finite strip method are used for calculating the buckling load and critical temperature by solving an eigenvalue problem. The results showed that reduction in size did not affect interaction of forces. Also, the length scale parameter, volume fraction modulus, different boundary conditions and the dimensions of the plate are considered.
