Abstract
⸠Wave modeling was done for the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea using 3 different wind reanalysis. ⸠An assessment of the accuracy of the hindcast was done for mean wave climate and extreme events. ⸠NARR reanalyses had not been previously evaluated for use in wave modeling. ⸠ERA-interim data gives most accurate results for mean wave conditions and NARR for cyclonic events. ⸠Reanalysis spatial resolution has an important effect on wave modeling results.
