Abstract
⸠A nonlinear viscoelastic and viscoplastic constitutive model is developed to simulate creep and recovery behaviors of fiber ropes. ⸠Detailed methods for identifying the model parameters are proposed and demonstrated. ⸠The model is capable of quantitatively capturing the change-in-length properties of fiber ropes. ⸠The feasibility and precision of the model are examined by comparing with experiments.
