Abstract
- The adaptive system of the Galapagos spiny lobster fishery validates the 9-step proposal by McDonald et al. (2014).
- To implement the adaptive system, we propose to add a specific step about social participation.
- The adaptive system improves information gathering and diminishing subjectivity in decision-making.
- The adaptive system is not necessarily a transitional public policy and can become a permanent one.
- The adaptive system of Galapagos is one of the few cases that becomes public policy in small scale fisheries.
