Abstract
A model of the IBR-2M pulsed reactor of periodic operation is developed to facilitate modeling of transitional processes at wide range of reactivity change and therefore of power. In the model nonlinearities of control rods and transfer coefficients of energy and amplitude of power pulse are considered. Applicability of the model is proved by comparing the simulated processes with the processes detected during the drop of the emergency protection (EP) rods. Such processes were registered in 2011 when the controlled parameter (relative amplitude of the pulse power) decreased by four orders of magnitude. The simulation was performed at different average power levels (0.2; 1; 1.5 and 2 MW). In a range of power variation, both variants have a good approximation of the simulated processes compared to the detected ones.
