Abstract
► The effect of particle-type burnable poisons in long-life prismatic HTGR was analyzed in detail. ► Different burnable poison particles can be combined to minimize excess reactivity during the core life. ► The use of burnable poison particles increases the passive safety features of prismatic HTGRs.
