Abstract
⺠We explore the feasibility of using gamma tomography for leaker rod identification. ⺠The method is based on measuring fission gasses in nuclear fuel rods. ⺠Failed rods may be identified in fuel assemblies without disassembling the fuel. ⺠Three gamma-ray energies are simulated and evaluated. ⺠Two of the gamma-ray energies are suitable for discerning the failed rod(s).
