Abstract
•Stochastic stability of thick beams is considered on the model of gyroscopic system.•Contact transformation method is integrated in the model for uncoupling the equations of motion.•Almost sure stability regions and moment stability are determined.
Stochastic stability of a high-order shear deformable beam is studied in this paper. Contact transformation method is used for decoupling the equations of motion of the gyroscopic system with two degrees-of-freedom. Method of regular perturbation is used to determine the asymptotic expressions for these exponents in the presence of small intensity noises. Analytical results are presented for the moment stability of a stochastic dynamical system.
