Abstract
► Entropy generation in a parabolic trough receiver at different inlet temperatures and concentration ratios was investigated. ► Increasing the concentration ratio increases the entropy generated. ► Increasing inlet temperatures reduces the entropy generated. ► For a given concentration ratio and inlet temperature there is an optimal Reynolds number that minimizes the entropy generated. ► The Bejan number approaches 1 at low Reynolds numbers for all inlet temperatures and concentration ratios.
