Abstract
⺠Effluents from production of medical isotopes can interfere with detection of nuclear explosions. ⺠The International Monitoring System detects radioactive xenon isotopes at many stations. ⺠Acceptable emissions levels need to be calculated to guide current and future production. âºÂ A maximum release of 5 Ã 109 Bq/day 133Xe will have minimal impact on monitoring.
