Abstract
This paper has two main goals. First, the important reactor physics information of Generation IV reactor types is summarized. Simplified models of a representative fuel assembly of each of the six reactor concepts have been elaborated. Calculations have been performed to determine the infinite multiplication factors as a function of burnup. The infinite multiplication factors (kinf) and the fissile inventory ratios (FIR) were compared. According to the results the Lead-Cooled Fast Reactor, the Molten Salt Reactor and the Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor can operate with the longest fuel cycle and the amount of the produced fissile isotopes is also the largest in these cases.
