Abstract
The study has shown the good potential of treatment by pulsed electric fields (PEFs) as a preliminary step of aqueous extraction of algae components assisted by basic pH. The content of proteins, pigments, proteins, carbohydrates, total phenolic compounds and antioxidant capacity of aqueous extracts is analyzed. Proposed approach allowed highly selective extraction without additional purification. The newly discovered effects have shown the advantages of PEF-pretreatment in a normal medium (pHÂ =Â 8.5) and basic medium supplementary aqueous extraction (pHÂ =Â 11).147
