Abstract
⺠Household water consumption compared in four suburbs of the Gold Coast, Australia. ⺠Main water uses are showers, clothes washers, faucet, toilets, irrigation. ⺠Paper tests influence of installing efficient devices and socio-demographic factors. ⺠Higher status group irrigates more; lower status groups use more in bath and shower. ⺠Savings from efficient shower 11.3 kL/person/yr; efficient clothes washer 14 kL/person/yr.
