Abstract
In this letter, we study the effect of single on-ramp with constrained resources on the density of asymmetric simple exclusion processes (ASEPs) by theoretical analysis and extensive computer simulations. Here, the on-ramp reservoirs and the system must share a finite supply of particles. It is found that the average particle density of the system can be expressed as a function of the on-ramp rate and the total number of particles. The result shows that the availability of particles becomes a rate-limiting factor for transport problems.
