Abstract
In the second part, an experimental approach is used to analyse latent heat storage, and solar collector performance for the charging process based on thermodynamics first and second law. The total energy efficiency of the solar collector was calculated as 70.4% however, the total exergy efficiency was found as only 2.5%. Alternatively, the average input energy and exergy rates of the latent heat storage were 0.770 and 0.027 kW respectively. According to these calculations, 74% of input energy and 37% of input exergy could be stored. During the experimental period the average daily working time of the system was 6.78 h, and average ambient temperature was measured as 286.9 K.
