Abstract
UV-opaque and visible-transparent composites were fabricated using ZnO filler and urethane or acryl polymer resin matrix. The optical properties of the composite ZnO with a mixing ratio of 0.1–0.5 vol% and thickness of 150 μm were greater than 80% transmittance between 400 and 800 nm (visible wavelength range) and less than 5% transmittance at wavelengths less than 380 nm (ultraviolet wavelength range). Using Al-doped ZnO filler, we successfully fabricated a UV- and IR-opaque, and visible-transparent composite.
