Abstract
⺠The humic Ãan coals are classified as lignite to sub-bituminous coal formed in limnic environment. âºHuminite is the most abundant maceral group consisting of mostly humocollinite (mainly gelinite). ⺠Organic sulphur is the dominant sulphur form. ⺠The high sulphur content in coal is attributed to regional volcanic activity. ⺠The facies interpretations are in accordance with the observed sedimentalogical data.
