Abstract
In this work, an experimental investigation along with fuzzy modeling was co-applied to decipher the influence of fracture inclination, spacing and intensity on polymer flooding efficiency. The obtained experimental data using five-spot glass micromodel were used to develop a flexible rule based fuzzy model for this nonlinear system. Putting it all together reveals that for a system with a single fracture, the maximum recovery occurs when a fracture is located at the inclination range of 50°-55° to the mean injection-production flow direction. Besides that in this case doubling fractures intensity did not yield higher oil recovery.
